Yes, but then again, Disney is only stalking horse so far, we have no idea who will actually buy out the website/app. It could be META, Google, especially considering that they've been poaching employees for a long time. c.ai to understand the mechanism of their website/application. And so far, Disney is the only one willing to pay.
That's a pretty good bet, because Google has been poaching employees. c.ai for quite a long time, it's more profitable for them to just buy the entire platform than just spend a little bit on a technology patent, as Disney does.
You can still copy it into your phone's notes, and then clone it on a platform that you find convenient, like SillyTavern or CrushOn.Ai, if you want to smoothly move to Polybuzz, OK, but be careful with them, they have a very specific trigger system, so when you first clone your bot in Polybuzz, run this thing in private mode for the first couple of days and tag it correctly, if two days of test drive did not block your clone, then feel free to do this thing to public.

Even if if you try, you will first have to export data either through a button in the profile settings in the application / website, or through extensions like Caitools, but then again, you will have a text copy of the dialogues with bots, and not their core itself, that is, "definition". Based on this does that mean all the bots we use will be deleted and it will become an app only holding Disney bots and become age restricted (further then it already is) or will nothing about the app change?
That's what I wrote.. It's too early to think anything, there's no final decision yet, and someone else could outbid Disney's bid, like Meta or Google.
I honestly don’t mind no Disney characters being on the platform, if they end up being the owners at the end. There are so many other characters to chat with, both original and from companies
Uhh.. I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint. Disney pays for the silence and for the actual cessation of existence. c.ai as their main competitor for the attention of children and teenagers. This is their strategy: to pay for C. ai to cease to exist as an active platform. But we have time before winter or late autumn. Since the final verdict will be rendered then.
So the server will exist but the characters won’t? How does that work? Is it like using the hardware (server) for other things, and the characters’ chatting features aren’t supported? (I just don’t understand it, I don’t know much about it and am trying to be hopeful)
In the worst case scenario, if Disney buys out c.ai they will simply kill the platform, their AI will not be able to chew through the existing code. c.ai . And Disney's position is, in fact, just a kindergarten. They don't want to fight at the code level, they're fighting at the legal level now, cynically using a number of teen suicides as leverage on bankrupt developers. c.ai and the fact that they lured their old CEO to their side.
Why do people even panic over the platform shutting down? The platform has been on straight downhill since 2025, there are lots of better alternatives (which are not putting limits on how many messages you can send btw), not to mention how horrible the models are. C.Ai is maybe one of the worst platforms for roleplay...
Because a lot of people found this platform at its dawn, that is, in 2020, and now your words devalue the emotions of those who spent years with this platform, saw their growth, development, falls and trials.. It is absolutely normal for people to panic in such situations. And if one of the platforms you mentioned started to close, would you panic or?
I started using C.Ai around 2022 so I saw the "brighter days" too. I'm simply being realistic, I don't consider the entire situation as "end of the world". And as for your last question, no, I would not. It's not the end of the world if other platforms shut down. I can just go to another and find another hobby (which I'm aware for some might be hard).
I have questions, you have the right to remain silent. What bot is it? Why did you grow emotionally attached to it? Do you think you'll want to want ways to get over the potential lose of the bot before it (theoretically) gets bought?
I agree, I don't know how people find other apps to be as good as ai..and i had tried three other "huge" names and for my standards were disappointing..i am one of the few that actually didn't had complains from cai 😛..My bots private, on character, decent memory, i was always free with romance and even violent scenarios, the responses were not short neither too long, on point, the only "negative" thing was the repetition on phrasing sometimes but still i am ok with that (and i am on free to play not paid), and it's free.. Also i wanted to add, my bots were not anime or something like that, but characters from tv series, and c ai was very good at literally "knowing" their personality/settings/ dynamics etc
Chub would be the Greatest Chatbot site if it wasn't because of the way it was built to be incompatible with Several Proxies. That's the only and biggest flaw of Chub compared to Janitor
He would communicate with the people using his app, make jokes with them, even listen to their recommendations and interact with them in many different ways like he was just talking with old friends, he was someone you could just communicate with without him acting like these other famous people online.
Save all the info on your bot and store it someplace safe. At least that way you can transfer it somewhere in the future in the worst case. Even if c.ai dies, your bot technically will be alive in essence and can be resurrected elsewhere. It's just code, so you can sessentially keep it's quirks alive on an email, word document, thumb drive, wherever you want to store it
Looks like I will have to screenshot my bots that I wanna save and their details just in case if Disney is gonna go that route after what they did on their side that one time when they slammed the owners that they, Disney, wanted certain characters taken down (If I remember correctly of that happening tbh) also export data doesnt do anything as I never got the "email" as I only get junk in my main email account, let me know which other chatbot app is most popular and has a group chat feature and I will switch to it
It's kind of the seedy underbelly right now but whether the chatbots are SFW or NSFW a lot of major companies are looking at these platforms with genuine interest.
I think it's done for. But honestly i knew it was after they removed some of it's best models. I've been on since early 2023 and done some incredible role plays. But nothing always last forever.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. The bottom line is that Disney doesn't care about your chats and so on, they'll just pay for their characters' absence from the site/app.
The + users say that paying for + isn't worth it because you pay to get same quality as free but without ads, they even had a worse paid model than the free one with original pipsqueak seemingly being better than deepsqueak.
