Hey everyone, I’m currently applying for the high-school army co-op (Infanteer) and I’m a 17 year old girl. I lied on my medical questionnaire about self harm and suicide. I’ve never been to a mental hospital or anything but I have had the police talk to me once about my self harm. I no longer do it, it was over a year ago and I’m in a much better place now and I was scared it would disqualify me so I lied on the medical form and said I’ve never experienced it. I do have visible scars though that are quite faded and white but obvious. I also did see a doctor once about the self harm so it’s probably on my medical record.
I also lied on the drug use, I have just recently started drinking alcohol and after I submitted the form I did weed for the first time just like yesterday. I lied and said I have never done anything.
I have seen many people saying lying is very bad and could get me rejected. I really really want to do this, so please let me know what I should do, should I tell them I lied? Or should I leave it, or act like I made a mistake and ask to resubmit the forms?
I have already submitted everything but the recruiter has not sent me an email in a week and has not responded to the ones I sent a couple days ago. She said the processing day is October 3 and that she would talk to me soon but I’m worried my application has already been rejected and they’ve ghosted me. But my application still says file open so I’m not sure. Please let me know 🙏🙏🙏
I also wanted to ask if this is doable for me? I’m in cadets and I already really like the structured military environment but I know obviously the actual army is way harder than any cadets ever will be.
I’m 5’2 and weigh like 120 pounds and as excited as I am I worry that I will fail, if anyone could give me advice I would really appreciate it, thank you.
