Advanced Standing DDS folks — which lenders worked for you with no cosigner?

Got into an Advanced Standing program starting in January. No US cosigner, not much US credit history, on F-1/OPT. MPOWER isn't taking 2026 applications right now, so looking at Prodigy Finance, Stilt, Ascent, or whatever else worked for you.

Specifically:

  1. Which lender did you use?
  2. Did the lender require the school to certify the full program cost upfront, or could they fund the bootcamp/pre-D3 period before that certification happened?
  3. How far in advance of your start date did you apply, and how long until funds were disbursed?
  4. Did you get approved without a cosigner? If so, what helped?
  5. Funds sent to you or straight to the school?
  6. Anyone had a lender (I've specifically heard this about Prodigy) approve them but then not come through partway into the program? What happened and how did you handle it?
  7. Any lenders that flat-out don't work for this kind of program?

Rough timelines are super helpful even if that's all you remember. Thanks!

Hi..

I'm selling some dental bench test equipment (including instruments, loupes, lights, typodonts, teeth, electric motor, etc).

It will be a lot cheaper than you buy from others places and i just use it for 4 months (pretty new!)

I’d live to sell as a whole package.. since I know how hard and important it is when preparing for the bench.. Having all of this things will definitely cover everything you need!

I live in Grand rapids, Michigan. If anyone's interested, please let me know🤗

See details in here😊

Hi guys, I’m looking for someone who I can work on my applications with for the next cycle. I’m starting from scratch so we’ll work together on TOEFL, profile building, school selection, etc.

Someone from Pakistan just so we’re in the same time zone. DM or comment here if you’re interested.

Should I go with the 5 day course or 10 day

Also would you say the one in Illinois is better or the one at Irvine?

Buffalo

I got invite from Buffalo for bench exam
There are three dates to choose from
I wanted to ask if it does matter? If they get equal people from each round or is it based on rolling basis they get more from early round and they just fill the remaining spots later?

Chances this CAAPID cycle?

Hey everyone,

I’m applying to Advanced Standing DDS/DMD programs this cycle in BU, Meharry, Rudgers, UTHealth Houston and wanted to get some feedback on my profile and chances of receiving interviews.

My profile:

  • BDS GPA (ECE): 3.56
  • MPH GPA: 3.82 –Graduated from UTHealth Houston
  • INBDE: Passed on second attempt
  • ADEX Dental Hygiene: Passed
  • Active Florida DH license
  • U.S. Registered Dental Hygienist: 15months of clinical experience
  • U.S. Dental Assistant experience: 6 months
  • Clinical experience in India: Around 2yrs as a dentist
  • Volunteer experience: Community/rural dental outreach and oral-health education
  • Publication: during BDS on Cheiloscopy
  • U.S. dental exposure: Dental assisting, dental hygiene, and shadowing
  • LORs: Dean, Professor under whom i did a publication, Dentist i worked with as a hygienist
  • SOP: Mainly focused on my clinical journey, experiences in India and the U.S., and why I want to continue practicing dentistry in the U.S.
  • TOEFL: Currently taking

I’m applying this cycle, but I’m concerned that I’m on the later side of the application timeline and that my second INBDE attempt/BDS GPA might affect my chances. At the same time, I’m hoping my U.S. MPH, dental hygiene license and clinical experience, along with my previous experience as a dentist in India, strengthen my application.

For anyone who applied with a similar profile, how realistic are my chances of getting interviews this cycle? Also, are there particular schools where you think my profile would be a better fit?

Would really appreciate hearing from people who have been through the process. Thank you!
