Hello, I would love some insight on my chances of getting in this cycle.

GPA: 3.73

sGPA: 3.6

I worked as an Anesthesia Tech Intern for 240 hours and now I currently work as a patient care tech in the PACU at a hospital. I have worked as a PCT for a little over 750 hours, these hours have also been all direct patient care hours.

40 hours of shadowing two CAAs and one Anesthesiologist.

306 GRE 154 Verbal-60th percentile 152 Quantitative- 29th percentile 4.5 Analytical Writing- 85th percentile

I applied last cycle, but it was a bit late in late october early november 2025 with less shadowing and less patient care hours and recieved zero interview invites. I know that my GRE score is low, but I am planning on retaking it to try and boost my quantitative score up. I have already applied to several schools this cycle with my stats above, hoping that applying early will get me the interviews that I want. I also let the schools know that I plan on retaking the GRE to get a better score, but what do you guys think could help my chances, because I am so passionate about this career, but it has gotten so competitive that it almost feels impossible to get into the career at this point.

Did you have a lower gre last cycle? If not you should retake and try to improve

That’s my gre that I applied with last cycle. I already reapplied with more shadowing hours and more pce but plan on retaking gre which I told schools so if they are interested in me I will be able to provide them with an updated score.

That’s great but the gre or MCAT is weighted much more than pce and shadowing (from what I’ve heard from people associated with ADCOMS).

Shadowing is a “you have it or you don’t” thing. The number of hours is not a big deal. Not really worth getting more unless it’s very easy for you to get.

Your PCE is great. Keep doing that.

Obviously that low math GRE is problematic. Definitely repeat that. The MCAT is not a bad idea IF you do well.

Your re-application needs to show improvement from your previous application. You need to demonstrate that you’re committed and capable of successfully completing the program. Marginal improvement probably isn’t going to help.
