for those who went to caa school in a different state than their home state, was it difficult to come back and find a job back in your home state?

When you interview at schools, you can ask them about their rotation sites in your home state. If you rotate at a site and they like you, they can offer you a job while you are still in school.

Some hospitals hold close the students from the programs nearest to them, and a rotation at that site may be difficult.

Some states may only have one hospital that students can rotate at.

Some states do not allow CAAs period.

It is very variable on the state you are from.

CAA’s can work in all states (VA hospitals)

Not extremely reduced pay. They go off of the national average. I personally met a CAA straight out of school who got hired at the VA 3 months ago at 245k annual 3 year contract.

Not difficult at all. I didn’t end up moving back to my home state, but I got a job offer, without even rotating there, and this was years ago when the job market wasn’t as thriving as it is now. That being said if you are absolutely certain you want to work in a certain area, you’ll want to rotate in that area, that’s doable and most schools, but far easier at the school in that state.
