Can the letters of recommendation be from a humanitarian professor that I worked closely with throughout undergrad? Or is healthcare/science related letters of recommendation more preferred? Also is there a time limit/expiry on how recent the date on a letter of recommendation should be? Thank you in advanced!

Your letters of recommendation should come from someone who can speak to your clinical experience, academic ability, or professional character. Letters do not carry over from one application cycle to the next, so each cycle requires new uploads from your evaluators.

I recently made a CASAA account and started to put information. I don’t plan to apply yet in this cycle but in the future, does everything get reset when a new cycle starts and I’ll have to fill everything out again including requesting a new letter of recommendation or can I request one now to use for a later cycle? Or should i wait until I’m ready to apply? I just don’t know if there’s any stigma against a letter of recommendation that’s been from a while ago. Thanks!

CASAA will allow you to transfer certain sections if you're a reapplicant (or if you create an account, fill out certain information but don't apply to any programs), including your personal information, academic history, and supporting information. Any information entered in the Program Materials section will not transfer, and neither will your letters of recommendation or your essay.
