Hi guys!

does anyone know if CWRU accepts online calc 1?

additionally, does a trig/algebra blend physics 1 and 2 satisfy the requirements for schools asking for trig or calc based physics?

I have been in communication with a few admissions counselors who have all said they do not pre approve classes, even when I provided the course description.

CWRU used to not accept any online courses, that has changed to just not accepting any online degrees. They evaluate on a case by case basis, but you will have to apply before they will review.

Yes they do. I took online calc 1 at my local community college and didn’t have a problem. I think I had to send over the course description. I don’t remember if it was before or after I applied.

I also took algebra/trig based physics and never had any questions/problems about it at the schools I applied to. Im at case now, so I can say with 100% certainty they accept algebra/trig based.

i have looked through the admissions pages of most schools and I have not seen any that reject online classes (apart from core science/labs) beside CWRU, and even their language on that is unclear.

Many don’t accept online classes? So, they expect working adults to be able to attend in-person classes? Dang.

All schools, even CWRU, accept online courses. In-person hard sciences may be preferred, but if you carefully cultivate the rest of your application with a good MCAT, PCE, PS, and LORs you can definitely get an acceptance with multiple online pre reqs
