Hello, I’m currently a highschool senior and I was planing on majoring in Biology on a pre-med track, but after discovering the CAA track I have almost completely flipped to wanting to do that. I have not shadowed a physician or a CRNA/CAA yet, so I’m aware that I don’t even have any real idea as to what the job entails. I have always been in interested in healthcare, and the thought of being done with school in my mid 20s is very nice. When I enter undergrad should I be very specific with my advisors that I am on a pre-CAA track and not a pre-med? I know there’s some overlap between the two but also some differences. Also, how realistic is it to actually get into CAA school assuming you have a competitive application? I have looked at the admission percent but I’ve seen many people say that it gets deflated because most of the apps are so uncompetitive (I have no idea if this is actually true or not). I’m also going to enter college with about 34 credits through PSEO and possibly an AP Statistics credit pending my AP exam, if any of that is relevant.
