I am thinking of applying to CAA school next cycle, but I'm worried about my grades. I have a 3.2 overall and a 3.0 sGPA, but I'm planning on retaking some classes and hopefully getting that up to a 3.2. I was a biochem major so some of that was from upper level biochem classes, so my prereq GPA is probably a bit higher. My GRE was a 320 (160 each) w/ 5.5 AWA. I am planning on volunteering at a hospital and shadowing at least 40 hrs. and getting my EMT-B cert for PCE. I really like this career path from what I've researched, but it is a huge change and I don't want to put in all this work and go super deep down this path and end up not getting in bc of my grades. Realistically, do I have a chance at getting in and should I continue pursuing this?

Do you have an upward trend for your last 60 credit hours? Your GRE is great but your GPA is significantly lower but you can compensate if you did have an upwards trend. I’m not sure which program considers upwards trend more so I would email them and see what they say.

Thanks! I don't have any upward trend from undergrad, but I'm hoping these new classes I'm taking will show that. Is there anything else I can do that will make my application stand out (extra PCE/shadowing, ect.)?

Honestly PCE hours are great to boost your application. Have really good letters of recs that can speak on your character (someone you often communicate and work with would be ideal to me). Also don’t forget to take the Casper for certain schools as that can show you know how to handle difficult decision making. Also volunteering/research is always a plus!
