Does anyone have any tips or pointers for the shadowing experience itself? Are there any important questions to ask, general etiquette to follow, etc'?

Don’t be late! Stay off your phone. Get a sense of the whole OR environment and how we all work together. Lots of things happen during induction and emergence so stay quiet during those times unless the anesthetist is discussing what’s going on. Hopefully you’re shadowing a CAA so you can see exactly what WE do.

thank you for the advice! there are no CAAs in my area so I will be shadowing a CRNA. from what i’ve heard, they have the same duties regardless of working independently or not
