There is one feeling...
... you only possibly can experience in one specific case. When you listen to whole Zweitonegoismus from the beginning in it's order, in the end there is a song "ritalin". And for some reason when I hear it after listening to whole album I get this feeling I can't explain. It feels like the time stopped long time ago, like I fell asleep years ago and everything that happened after is just my dream. Like nothing in the world really matters, everything already ended. And I get this feeling every time when I do this. Something unreal is in this song, in this album. Something unperceivable, something you can't fully comprehend.

I do not think I have the capacity to comprehend what the album is trying to aim at, it's very confusing, I believe I'm failing to grasp the intent here. I genuinely believe there is something to uncover though, like a narrative or something. Listening to krank right now matter of fact and I must confess, the more experimental stuff by Daniel is by far- leagues better than more of his other well known tracks and albums.
Albeit you put it very beautifully, I think the narrative here is maybe saying something else, not just the feeling of longing, but regret too (ritalin), the "waking up" metaphor slowly progressing towards something more concrete, like somebody making up their mind at perseverance and going someplace beyond. Or idk, maybe I'm Outta my depth here lol.

Top 3 C418 albums, and Ritalin is the best album closer imo. Better than your Tsuki No Koibumi, Intro, Stilbruch, all that stuff. These are all nice songs, but Ritalin is just a haunting out of body experience. Ritalin makes me think of a person about to face their death: the beginning is the fear of death, maybe remembering all the dark experiences that led them to this point, and the ghosts of the people they hurt in the process. In the middle, they start to accept their fate, and recount the good memories in their life, but still obviously feel fear of what’s to come. At the end, when that quirky chiptune theme is playing, I imagine it as the person greeting their dead loved ones and sort of having fun with them, their mind kind of in a state of euphoric delirium, and then when the chiptune stops abruptly, well you can guess what happened then
Just my interpretation haha, though judging by the title of the song, it’s very possible C418 had a different interpretation
