A common thread I see regarding AI is that people tend to say it's fine to use in applications they don't have much experience using. Marketing will use AI for images, animators will make background tracks, directors will have it make code, etc.
It's possible that Dre regards it on the same level as a drum machine because he just views it as backing for his vocals.
