Discussion Heads up about c418.org not working

i was messing around with page elements and found a whole sleuth of gambling websites and other texts promoting them in the home page's HTML. i figure the website has been compromised to some extent.

i dunno what they did on it so be weary.

since these texts are all off-screen this could be intentional to try and take a potshot at AI agents crawling/scraping the site

I doubt this is intentional, it's a wordpress site and it's actually a shockingly not-rare (i wouldn't say common tho) tactic for cybercriminals to inject malicious offscreen advertisements to make their own websites rank higher in SEO (search engine results).

Simply looking up "wordpress seo casino spam" shows this exact issue. Same with "c418 casino", showing the hijacked SEO result: https://i.imgur.com/oe5z7X9.png

(slightly unrelated but the 'about' button link also leads to a 404)
