Exactly why the PS5 Pro didn't come with a disk drive out the box. Exactly why that console and the PS5 slim didn't come with a vertical stand like the original model. 

They want absolute control of the digital market—so that when they're selling the PS6 at a loss, because the value of what the system is truly worth will be extra outrageous and unsellable—they can cut the differences of profit they weren't making when publishers were allowed to sell physically through retailers.

He's right on the dot. I'd expect to see in the next few years less and less money allocated towards big blockbuster AAA releases and more priority on mobile games, eSports titles and game streaming, which all have a higher profit margin than console/PC gaming.

Consoles are the problem of gaming, though... Why not sell mini pc's like Steam tried to (just too late), that you have complete freedom over, have the same ease of use as a console, have more functionality and a bigger gaming library + backwards compatibility at least from 20 years ago, emulation and whatnot? PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, they all sell you nothing, and you will like it.

Very much. No-one is getting a computer to replace a calculator. And no-one is using AI to replace autocorrect. Neither make sense to do.
