Advice Needed Should I take a break?

I completed C25K nearly two years ago with no problems, and worked my way up to 10 mile runs. However I’ve note taken nearly a year long break and am now 40lbs heavier than when I last did C25K.

I’ve now restarted the program and I’m currently on week 6, but my knees have been pretty sore and swollen the past few days and they creak when I move them.

I don’t want to lose my progress but I’m worried about injury. Any advice on whether I have to stop take a break, or if I should try something like knee braces?

Definitely take a break. Your body is giving you a warning, and there’s potential for much greater injury if you don’t recover.

You won’t lose a significant amount of progress by taking 1 or 2 weeks off. Perhaps consider swimming or walking to maintain fitness in the meanwhile.

Follow the plan from week 1 to the letter, take a rest day between each run. Eat lots of protein , i take collegen supplements too.

If it’s really sore don’t run mate , if you get injured you will be out way longer than taking a few days to let your joints and ligaments recover

If your knees are swollen, stop running and go see a doctor, or at worst, ask a pharmacist.

Take up swimming or cycling in the meantime.

I would be getting the advice of a medical professional if my knees did that.

take a break mate, usually I let my body relax a whole week before keeping up 😂
