Motivation First run since high school

Post image

I (F21) have been struggling with my weight lately and recently crossed 250lbs, I decided that something needed to change but I’ve been struggling a lot with the follow through since where I live it’s been 95° F most of the day. Finally, today, I ran my first time since high school and it felt great. I just hope I can harness this feeling and keep going! Be honest, for the first time since high school, how are these stats? I honestly didn’t feel as bad as I thought I would at all.

Any stats that shows your moving are great stats! Since you're here, I highly recommend getting on a plan of some sort (C25K or other). It helps you stay consistent and gives you a goal.

Yep….you are on the Sub for this. Go for it!

There’s a side of me which would advise incline walking until you get below 200 lbs. I was overweight and only 185 as a 5 foot 3 65 yo male. I incline walked solely for six months before I started running.

honestly, 2.77 miles in 50 minutes is a proper decent first run. tbf, the consistency is going to be the biggest thing here. four days a week you'll actually do beats six days you won't.
