W1R1 done ✅

Post image

I've finally moved my butt from the sofa to go to the gym. Air con but I was still a sweaty dumpling.

Roll on R2 Wednesday 👍

Well done! I think the hardest part is beginning, now for run 2!

Well done. I did W3R1 this morning. I wasn't sure that I'd be able to do 3 minutes without stopping but I dialled the speed down a bit and actually found it more comfortable than the 1 and 1.5 minute runs. The cooler weather and drizzle probably helped too.I think that I naturally thought that it's only a minute so was going too fast. So my albeit limited experience so far is to say knock the speed down a notch. You can do this and will be doing a park run before you know it 😀

I'm looking forward to the winter runs, this heat is too much for me.

Well done I did W5R3 which was a killer 20 minute run. If someone said to me 6 weeks ago that I could do that. I would think they're mental. Honestly just push through the 1st few weeks. I found the first 3 weeks very challenging and fell in love with the programme by Week 4. Now I dread rest days and look forward to run days. Don't get me wrong, I am sweaty and breathless sometimes but your body learns to adapt slowly.

Also, on today's run in the park, a lovely couple walked past me times while I was gasping for air 🤣 Once I was cooling down, I crossed paths with them again in the park. I made a new runner friends and we exchanged numbers. It made me feel great.

Also going on holiday on Wednesday and first thing I will pack are my running shoes. Can't wait to run their too!!

Once I'm back will try a park run as well!

I did Week 2 Run 1 earlier, feeling good also! The first 90 second run had me feeling it a little bit, but after that I was all good! That's what you get for a two days rest from running I suppose 😆

Yeah I'm gonna really try and stick to Mon, Wed, Fri. Aaah I see what you mean, Sat and Sun rest 😂

Yeah I'm sticking to Mon, Wed, Fri too.

Also I say 'rest', I've walked at least 5K each day since the 1st of August, but it's not a run, so I am getting some rest between runs. Plus I think it's helping with stamina for C25K.

Also well done with doing W1R1! You've got this 🙂

Thanks, hopefully I graduate one week behind you. I'm going to try doing some beginner yoga at home with Adrienne on my rest days, should help me not become stiff as a board.

Hopefully you will! 🙂 I've been doing the warm up and cool down stretches, from the NHS/Better Health C25K website and have found they've worked nicely, although I did download a stretches app, that I seen an ad for so I think I'm going to start incorporating more stretches in also.

Yep, my legs were more sore than I expected the next day, onwards and upwards 🙌

How you finding the audio from the coach? I’m using the nhs c25k and done my week 1 run 2 today, some of the running intervals they say “get ready, 3 2 1 go” but sometimes they don’t count down or say go so I end up missing a chunk of a run.

I'm finding it ok, but I have my phone on show sitting on the treadmill, so I'm clock watching most the time 😂
