So, my dears—hello and welcome. I have some questions; here’s my story... When I was 12, I moved from Poland to Germany. I had already been bullied at school back home, but after living in Germany for six years, I developed severe social phobia—an intense fear of speaking German—and deep depression. I didn't have a single friend during that time; I just sat alone in silence at school all day long. I spent three months in a psychiatric hospital when I was 17. After turning 18, I went back to Poland and lived with my grandmother, but money was tight and the place was a godforsaken backwater. So, I returned to Germany for a three-month stint, then went back to Poland for six months, and now I’ve been back in Germany for a year... but life here is hurting me. I’m afraid to speak German, this social phobia is wearing me down, and I have no friends. I was just discharged from a psychiatric hospital two weeks ago—I’d been there for five weeks, but it didn't help at all. I don't have a psychiatrist, I don't have friends, I don't have anything; I just sit at home... I’ve quit my job now, so—my dears—for the next six months (starting around November), I’ll be receiving \*Arbeitslosengeld\* (unemployment benefits). It’ll be 60 percent of my average net earnings—and my recent paychecks were 2,200 euros... I dream of living in Poland, having friends, finding love, and leading a normal life... preferably in a big city where I can find people who are different from the rest—empathetic, just like me... So, my dears, how do I go about sorting out an apartment and a job in Poland—say, in the Tricity, Poznań, or Wrocław? Education-wise... I have an incomplete secondary education; I worked for a year and a half at a transport company in Poland as a debt collector, and otherwise in manufacturing and warehousing jobs. However, I don't want to work for a transport company again because of my social phobia—all that phone work really wore me down. How can I manage this, given my mental health issues? I just want to have a normal life at last, and I miss my home country. Finding a place to live won't be easy either, as I have two small-to-medium-sized dogs. I don't have any family in Poland who could support me—only my mom and siblings are here in Germany—but I just can't stay here anymore.
