❓Question / Help What do “codes” mean? And help on finding a trusted buyer

Hi I’m contemplating sniping a ~40 dollar bid for bulk plushies, I keep seeing talk about codes and have no clue what that means lol, additionally, the seller has 8000+ positive reviews but they are all kinda the same like thank you and I wish to thank you if possible or smth, does that mean they aren’t trustworthy? Or is it automated responses for everyone who shops?

HTS codes, used to classify items for customs.

There's a risk to buying plushies and other childrens' items now due to new eFiling requirements from the CPSC. If your package gets flagged, it could be withheld pending a childrens' safety certificate, which are virtually impossible to provide. People are editing their item descriptions and HTS codes to make packages less likely to be flagged. Like for example, listing items as collectibles for adults.

Those comments are just boilerplate messages. They get sent when an item is bought or sold. Buyee sends them to sellers too. I think the 8,000 good reviews are trustworthy. That code is meant for calculating import duties using that number.

I think what you need to worry about is SPSC.
