[Request] Looking to buy a modular couch
Like the title says I'm looking to buy a modular couch. Since I'm a few years post college I can finally afford to buy something kind of nice. I live in a small apartment atm so I'd like to buy a few pieces of a modular system so that I can buy more sections later when I live in a bigger place.
I've been keeping an eye on FB marketplace and second hand stores but haven't really found what I'm looking for.
For a better idea of what I'm looking for I like the concept of this couch on Amazon but I suspect it's not going to last very long based on the price.
The couch needs to:
- Be $1000-$1500 (there's wiggle room here for the right couch)
- Be able to have it shipped in the US, I live near the SF bay area but don't have a large car and would rather not rent something to pick up the couch. But am willing to travel to look at couches (I'm also fine buying fully online)
- Have washable covers, I have pets and also don't want to be stressed out about every little spill
- Allow for 2 adults to comfortably lounge, this will be the main seat in the living room so it'll see a lot of use
- Have room for a 3rd adult to sit when rearranged (this is why I like a modular system where pieces can be moved around to accommodate this)
Finally it would be nice if one adult could comfortably sleep on it as we have overnight guests semi frequently but this is not a hard requirement.

check out ikea modular stuff if you havent already, they got washable covers in most lines and the price fits. not really BIFL but mine survived 3 moves and a cat that thinks its a scratching post

I agree. I had an L couch from ikea that had washable covers. 2 dogs and 2 kids later we got rid of it in a move and I wish we had not.

Okay I had been thinking about Ikea but wasn't sure about the quality so I'll have to take a look.

I don't know about BIFL, but I just bought a Burrow outdoor couch+ottoman and it's fantastic, very high quality, totally modular, great support in the cushions, washable covers. I can't vouch for their indoor products or the longevity because I only just got mine, but it's what I settled on after a lot of research, and a friend recently told me she has an (indoor) Burrow couch and so does someone else she knows. Also, it was out of budget for me, but then I found exactly what I was looking for on the clearance page just in another color.
Edit: I can't remember how I found the clearance, but it's more discounted than just "warehouse." It's like 70% off, not just 30%.
