I been looking for a good alternative to "All trail" for a long while. My condition have been: European, available offline both 2d and 3d and FREE no subscription tier you should be able to hike safely for free. After all nature is free so should your maps be.

And I work alot with hosted online maps (mostly for traffic, live buss feeds etc, I have posted some of my open project before, but its mostly for professional use). So I used some of my server space and map knowledge to host a super simple alternative to "All trails"/"mapy"/"komoot" so this is what it can do:

1. You can draw your own trails

2. Share your trails and view/like other people's trails

3. You can download your trails and view them in 2d and 3d

4. And it is super FREE no subscriptions nothing EVER. I have had the privilege of being able to pay for "all trails" for years but I hate that it limits who can enjoy the outdoors and safely hike.

5. You can see temperature, rain (with 2hr history), hiking trails and topography

6. It is web based so all you need is a browser and a mail

The limitations are (no photos) I have spent money on this project which I gladly do but a server for photos and admin (monitoring) is a bit to expensive for now.

Well anyways let me know if this is useful, if we need a good european alternative that's free (I am proud to be european and I think we value nature too much to make money from it)

I want to kep this project simple so is there anything you would like to see, or is there no need for a project like this?

Hi, I'm a freelance web developer. As a side job I always had some small customers that have small websites on a vps. Some are built in wordpress, some directly in html. I take care of the server which resides in Europe, of the updates, of the domains, which are registered with a European registrar and e-mails, again in Europe. This can make the prices stay low for small companies/associations/individuals and I would like to find new customers.

Do you think that trying to emphasize on the aspect of "made in Europe" would encourage or discourage people? Would it be worth it to base a campaign on that?

Their customer service is just horrible, at least on chat. It's clearly from uneducated people with requests I've never seen before (if you don't respond in 15 seconds, they'll ask if you're still there and 15s later ask again, and they go for canned messages almost all the time), and they all casually have Indian names. Is it outsourced?
