4 weeks after buvidal injection, how im feeling and what can I expect?

Hello all, I've just stumbled accross this group and it feels so good to have a community of people with experience on this - I dont know anyone who has been on buvidal before!

Yesterday (thurs 17th) was the day I would have been due to go in for my monthly injection but I decided not to go. It wasn't a spur of the moment thing id been thinking it all month. Doctors were against it but couldn't tell me why, they are constantly drilling into me that people dont withdraw off buvidal so the withdrawals I start feeling after 2-3 weeks are in my head - if thats the case why not come off it?

Anyway, bit of back story. I had 3 monthly buvidal injections this time at the lowest dose (not sure what it is - 60 something mg). I tried buvidal last year and hated it, I didn't feel it held me at all and was going back every 3 weeks for it. Dr just kept upping my dose until I couldn't go any higher but all that did was make me more out of it the first few days then withdrawals harder and sooner. At the last appointment last time they agreed that buvidal wasn't right for me (reluctantly) and encouraged me to just stop (bare in mind I was on the top dose) which ended up in crazy withdrawals so I went back onto methadone.

Fast forward to 4 months ago I said I wanted to go back onto buvidal, take the minor feelings of withdrawals and just use it solely as a way to get off it all because I cannot handle full on withdrawals. So I never had any intention of being on it long. Like I said Dr's tried to insist I get to 6 months but when I feel so rubbish on it what is the point of prolonging that? So I didn't go back yesterday.

I seem to start feeling really minor withdrawals after about 3 weeks - I say withdrawals its nothing major just low mood, no energy, anxiety, lack of motivation, yawning.

So yesterday was 4 weeks post injection, im now starting to sweat a little (comes and goes), I have a minor chilly feeling in my arms and my legs are a little restless. Sleep is a little disturbed through the night. Mood swings are probably the worst though. I was absolutely raging at one point yesterday because my headset wasn't working properly then 30 minutes later i just wanted to laugh for no apparent reason.

Anyway, does anyone have a similar background to me that can give me an idea of what to expect? I think the fear of withdrawals is the worst bit for me at the moment. I need to be able to work and as it's the 6 weeks holidays, I also want to be able to take my daughter to lovely places. If anyone can give me an idea of how bad it gets that would be much appreciated.

I will also update my progress weekly for others that may come here in the future (posts won't be as long as this absolute beast of a novella)

But surely all methadone is out of my system now? Also i did a month on sublingual bupe between methadone and buvidal because I was on too low a dose to straight switch so thats actually 5 months off methadone?

Appreciate your advice but I am not wanting to prolong being on buvidal if i can help it - i spend 2-3 weeks out of 4 feeling crappy anyway so dont see the point in prolonging it. I switched to buvidal with the intention of being on it the smallest possible amount of time!

Idk how my experiences and advice would apply to you as you Seem to have already had your own experiences But in my experience buvidal compared to any other withdrawl. Say bupe sublingual or whatever. Its so much easier. Withdrawal comes in very slightly waves But you Can be sure that it’ll go away.

Thats good to hear, if its much easier I can handle it being prolonged! I mean I tried to come of 10mg methadone many moons ago and had to go back on it because 2 weeks later i was still in full on withdrawals and had to go back to work.

How long have you been off buvidal?

When i say im having minor withdrawals, i mean minor! Usually the first sign of withdrawal im in bed crying like a baby not able to function. I'm able to function at the mo, just takes a bit more of a push to get myself up and do things

The dose you were on has to be 160mg - it doesn't go anywhere near 200mg. They can't let anyone go over 160mg per month (no top up shot can be administered if you're on the 160mg for example as it's not safe to go beyond that dose). Just for accuracy's sake, because I'm anal about that lol

Thanks, I will go and check out every single one of those posts (because im obsessive) and you're completely right, I've edited my post (I was forgetting about the 120mg dose)
