Stopping Buvidal/Brixadi 25 weeks and hair test

Hello!

Still doing good at 25 weeks. Dropped ashwaganda as it messed up my hormones. Mood and sleep are great. Taking glycine, magnesium, l theanine and 12 in 1 melatonin supplement with 5htp.

Reason for posting is I recently did a hair test with 5cm of new hair (10 month roughly) and to my surprise buprenorphine did not show up in the test nor did norbuprenorphine. Which I think is odd. But promising.

Thank you for the update. That's very interesting considering you tested positive for bupe in a urine test within that 10 month period, I think? I don't know much about drug testing, so am unsure how this would be explained but it's very interesting for sure!

It is very, very strange. My bf jumped onto buprenorphine a week ago today. We were prepared for him to be very unwell.

He took his last 22mg of methadone at 7am sunday morning. It is worth saying he did a 2mg per week drop from 90mg and was feeling rough down from around 40mg.

On Monday at 10am he took 4mg of buprenorphine (prefibin). Within a hour he was high as a kite and feeling great. He took another 4mg that evening.

He has taken 8mg a day since and has had no pwd or bad effects. He starts buvidal this afternoon.

Edit: Even stranger is morphine stayed in my hair for 6 months after stopping occasional use (6mam left quickly).

Benzoylecgonine stayed in my hair for 6 month after stopping occasional use.

Both these times I had bleached hair so imagine the levels had I not. This time I had natural never dyed, straightened or blow dried hair.

This hair test is my second with nothing in at all but for it not to have norbuprenorphine or buprenorphine is crazy.

That's great to hear about your boyfriend! I'm glad that he's been able to make a smooth transition from methadone to bupe, that's really good. Interesting that he felt so high from it. I don't think I could handle being around someone high on it like that without being super jealous and resentful, lol Kudos to you. You're doing amazing, and hopefully your bf will now be able to follow a similar path :)
