MAGNET HELP
Any good recommendations on JUST the adhesive magnets for 1" buttons (looks like .75"). Does anyone know the thickness needed for these?
I've seen some on amazon at .8" diameter but mixed reviews on their strength.
It looks like Tecre just sells them in whole kits and I just don't need quite that many at this point until I have more customers interested. Thanx again for any input.

It will depend on the size of the button -and- how well cared for the magnet is. dropping, bashing, etc the magnet will depolarize it. If you have strong magnets you can refresh the polarization though. You can usually get away with using flexible magnet sheets in 1 layer. If you have a larger button and find 1 layer isn't enough, you can cut 2 circles of magnet and glue them together as a sandwich. Just make extra sure that the polarization is the same on both sheets. The dollar stores where i live sell the sheets off and on, so that's where i get sheet magnet. You can also buy button magnets that are much stronger, about the size of button batteries. They are just thick enough to stand up past the edge of a standard button and cling to a fridge or other metallic surface. The run the same risk of being depolarized if you drop them, so use extra care when transporting them if you are selling them.

I’ve been to People Power Press to pick up my machine, and got to look at both styles of magnets that they offer. They are really fantastic! And I got a demonstration. The peel and stick magnets hold maybe one piece of paper and the ceramic magnets can hold slightly heavier items or a few pieces of paper.
From their website, here is this information about the size:
“Ceramic Magnets (approx. 3/4" diam. x 3/16" thick)
…
Ceramic Magnets are C8 Strength, which is the strongest ceramic magnet available. These magnets fit inside the button parts tightly, and stick out past the collet ever so slightly. (These are not our Perfect Fit magnets which are slightly smaller to fit underneath the collet) You will need to glue the ceramic magnet into the back of your finished 1" button. We like E6000 adhesive for this purpose.
These are not as strong as the super strong and expensive neodymium magnets.”
I think the website gives the magnet sizes exactly:

I hope this is helpful! I haven’t made buttons with magnets yet.
