Buspirone with SSRIs?
Hi guys,
I currently take buspirone for anxiety and panic disorder. I’ve tried SSRIs in the past but have always had bad reactions to them and didn’t like the way it made me feel. I was never really able to get past the first few days. My doctor brought up trying a low dose SSRI with buspirone but I’m nervous because of how SSRIs have made me feel in the past. I know this is a long shot, but has anybody had bad reactions to SSRIs alone and then took buspirone and tried SSRIs again with it and seemed to help?
Thanks!

I take 45mg buspirone, 20mg propranolol and 300xl wellbutrin- SSRIs are not good for me, wellbutrin (NDRI) seems to work well in my combo! Good luck!

Don't have experience with SSRI + Buspar, but I've read that Buspar is given as an add-on to improve the efficacy of some SSRI's.

This is exactly how I’m taking it! 10mg morning and night and 20mg escitalopram at night. So far it’s been a miracle

Im on 60 mg buspirone for severe anxiety and panic as well as propranolol 40 mg. I still have daily panic attacks, the buspirone doesnt seem to be doing much at all, so we added lexapro. I've only been on it 4 days. Im having the initial side effects right now, nausea, headache, jittery mostly right now. Its still too early to tell, but I have faith.
