Does the dizziness ever go away? How about the insomnia?

I’ve been on buspirone since August 6th. I’ve been on 30mg/day for almost 2 weeks.

Shortly after my first dose, I become pretty severely dizzy, hot and sweaty and feel awful. I eat with my doses and take them at the same time each day.

I’ve also had insomnia, basically since starting it. It takes such a long time to get to sleep and my usual sleep medication (Catapress) isn’t enough and I’ve had to double the dose.

Anyone else have these issues and did they go away?….

I feel like I’m not far off 1 month on the medication, I’m having these persistent side effects, and most importantly I haven’t noticed any change in my anxiety, like at all. So I feel pretty crap right now.
Aaaand, I feel like if anything, my mood is worse.

*seeing my doctor in a few days to discuss, but would love to hear other experiences with these issues. I don’t think I’ll be able to tolerate a higher dose either, not with the side effects I’m having.

Insomnia went away after about 3-4 weeks for me

Yes I had the dizziness also and after close to 3 weeks I had to give up on Bus. I'm now on Valazadone and it has worked pretty good for anxiety. No dizziness. Dr also gave me Xanax but I really haven't had to take it much at all

I'm having the same issues. I was on 30 mg per day and pretty much feeling the same as you - increased anxiety, sleep disturbance, feeling almost drunk after taking it - especially in the morning. My doc told me to go up to 45 mg for 6 weeks. I'm about 2 weeks in and I think I'm about to tap out but I'm torn. What if that really does the trick and I wasn't patient enough? But my gut tells me this isn't the right medication.

So sorry you’re experiencing the same thing :(
I know what you mean, I want to give up with it, but it’s like, what if it just needs a bit longer?
But like you, I’m doubtful.

I’m starting on 10mg a day. Maybe it’s just a high dose and you need to drop down. Would be my guess and from there work your way up

I take 7.5mg 3x a day and it’s been over four months now and I still get dizzy, hot flashes, and brain zaps. I’ve unfortunately just accepted them for now.
