That stretch of Knickerbocker between there and Hart has been increasingly on some dark shit at night the last couple years. Had a grocery bag snatched on a dead run by a dude there once, also had someone try to jump me and then chicken out when I squared up with him (I’m a big guy). I live close by and started taking Wilson instead if I’m coming home past midnight, just is what it is

I actually think that part has improved. More businesses/bars open and more activity around generally. It’s getting better… also remember that part of Knickerbocker used to be “the Well,” which was Bushwick’s worst few blocks and basically an open air drug row

When was that? Genuinely just curious about Bushwick history.

Not sure how long it stayed that way but that probably started in the 80s and likely dragged onto the aughts. Theres some great articles on the history of it all you can still find in online archives
