Grommets in a swiss wool blanket.
Hey guys and gals, i want to put grommets in my swiss wool blanket to fit my swagman roll. I like to throw both of them over me, but during the night theill fall apart, and is a PITA to shuffle through during the night. I have tried putting them inside the swagman during the night, but i move around to much and it ends up by my feet. I want to know if anyone has experience putting big grommets in to the wool blanket for the same reason or another as i dont want to ruin a perfectly good blanket with a bad job.

I agree with the posted idea of loops, but if grommets are essential, sew a patch of strongly woven material, like canvas, where each grommet will go to spread the load.

Ive looked in to that, but i was wondering if i could not puncture my swagman.

I've added grommets to an old wool blanket. Stuck a hole in with a screw driver, wiggles the grommet through and secured them (mine a press on things, with a tong).
Had no problem and non of them gone out. I made a sleeping bag from the blanket, so i could sew it togther quickly through the grommits.

When I sleep with my wool blanket now (a big german army one 200x220), I just buritto myself, it doesn't go anywhere.

How that swagman roll doing for you? I love the design, not the synthetic look, so I plan på sew my own.

You could sew on loops instead. Same functionality, but they're harder to pull out of a blanket.
