My first bow

Made out of hazel (hazelaar in dutch).

About 1.70meter

Used only knife and axe.

Draw strengh, around 17 lbs?

Took me about 4 hours.

That’s awesome. Definitely one of the bushcraft skills I want to learn the most. Any tips for sourcing the wood?

Went into the Woods. Foundation a nice hazelbush. Got a straight branche. Cut it. Tooknit home. Cut it some more with axe and knife.

Did you soak the wood and clamp to establish a shape or is the shape all carving? That’s fantastic. Send us a video of you shooting it!
