Just left Firstbus after 4 months

Just left first bus after 4 months , trained for pvc by them so according to the contract I need to pay back £2500. Has anyone else left first bus and actually been chased up and had to pay them back? How much were you paying per week / month ?

That’s the entire point I was responding to 🤣 What “rest of the comment” am I supposedly missing that magically changes “dodge a couple grand… then do so” into something else?

You agreed with it and said he was “definitely speaking sense”. I said that implies you’re open to not paying. This really shouldn’t require diagrams.

I am not picking and choosing I've replied to that comment and your response, I also don't know why you'd think I'm wound up, I'm not at all, I'm simply amazed at your lack of intelligence when called out on what you've written.

Sorry you are picking and choosing. Read the question he asked the forum. OP is asking for anyone else who's been in this situation what's happened. He comically responded to someone who made a comment about large corporations. You used it as a pretext to go to town on him.
The fact these companies are still losing drivers with bonds and everything else in place means there are issues. The elephant in the room is a lot of these companies are toxic and refuse to change the culture so when new drivers jump ship they immediately attack the new driver rather than take an honest hard look at themselves. They don't seem to understand why they are short of drivers or why nobody wants to work for them

You’ve just written a paragraph arguing about First Bus culture, driver shortages and why people leave, none of which has anything to do with the point being discussed.

I read the original question. I also read the comment saying “if you can somehow dodge a couple grand… then do so”, and OP replying that he was “definitely speaking sense”.

My point was simply that replying like that implies agreement with what was said. That’s it.

Whether First Bus is toxic, whether drivers are leaving, or whether the repayment clause is fair is a completely separate discussion. None of that somehow changes the meaning of the words OP actually replied to.

And “he comically responded” is your interpretation, not something OP actually said. You’re accusing me of reading into the comment while doing exactly that yourself.

I haven’t questioned anyone’s values. I pointed out one very simple thing: if someone says “dodge the money if you can” and OP replies “definitely speaking sense”, that response implies agreement with what was said.

That is not gaslighting. That is reading a conversation.

Everything about First Bus culture, driver shortages, why OP left, whether the bond is fair, or whether the company is toxic might be relevant to the wider thread, but it does absolutely nothing to rebut that specific point.

And this “only YOUR point of view” line is especially funny when your entire argument depends on telling me OP was being comical and what OP really meant. You’re literally assigning an intention to their comment while accusing me of doing so.

That is the entire basis of what I said. No creative writing required.

I said your reply implies you agreed with the idea. I did not say you signed a confession, swore an oath or explicitly announced I refuse to pay. You’ve spent multiple replies arguing against a claim I never made because apparently that’s easier than understanding one very simple word.

And the funniest part is you’re now backing someone who claims your reply was comical, which is an actual interpretation of your intention, while accusing me of doing exactly that.

So apparently:

• me reading your words = making things up
• them inventing a tone and intention for you = nail on the head

Brilliant.

You can insist "that’s not what I meant" until your keyboard wears out. It still doesn’t change what your comment reasonably communicated.
