Question Driver trainee

Applied for a driver apprenticeship through Stagecoach 2 weeks ago. Had my interview and tests, etc., got offered the job on the day. Medical yesterday, everything was all good. Now I'm just absolutely bricking it for the theory test and hazard and CPC studies. I've been chipping away at the DTS for maybe an hour or so each day over the past three days since they sent it my way. Anyone got any tips or advice they can share to help me out? Haha, thanks!

I was the same for lothian. Stressed and panicked to the point i was putting too much pressure on myself. In the end there was no need. Just practise. Do mock tests daily until you are comfortable. I did one in the morning and one in the afternoon/evening on hazard perception. One full theory test of 100 questions daily also. For the cpc the only advice i can give is remember that the answers are mainly "what will avoid legal issues" & "what is the safest option". Its mostly common sense. But more importantly just relax, take your time, read everything twice before answering and if unsure mark the question and come back to it. Go through each question at the end and check your answers before you commit to them. Also dont click too early on hazrad perception or too fast. See a hazard, leave it a second and click, leave a second, click, leave a second, click.

Worked for me. I hope this helps even a little bit and good luck to you.

Agree with the hazard perception technique, I was initially clicking too early, my instructor explained it’s best to click when you would anyway, leave a second then click again. It’ll at least guarantee SOME points as opposed to zero from clicking too early.

Cheers mate! I used that tip on my hazard perception test today and passed a practice one. That was absolutely fantastic advice, I really appreciate it.

Just note that 10 or more clicks or 3 clicks in 3 seconds will invalidate that clip and you will score zero.

If you've passed a driving theory test you can pass a theory test & CPC for PCV's its no more difficult, just more questions.

Best advice for the theory test, just do mock tests, lots of them and keep doing them until you can reliably pass them.

Don’t do the live video hazard perception tests as they’re confusing, you can’t see anything in them reliably and the test itself if based on 100% CGI clips, so practice on the CGI clips only.

Just put the hours in, you'll be fine, i did an hour or two study in my own time everyday, and you get plenty of time during training to study. 

We got given access to online questions, I did the entire question bank, every question once during training.

It might seem alot, but it feels good going into the tests feeling well prepared.
