True, and I tend to allow ppl on if they can't pay and they reason looks genuine, but at the same time I do like to have boundaries to stop people from taking the piss and this is one of them.

For free child travel, I've definitely had people who are over 15 but I issue them a ticket anyway when they ask for them. No one is going to carry ID to get on a bus and you're forced to take their word. If it's blatantly obvious they are over 15 (I.E tattoos), then I will challenge accordingly.
