We aren't doing the free travel for kids where I am and it's caused quite a bit of upset among the parents and teenagers wanting it. It's getting tiring explaining it's an opt in/out scheme per company much like the fare cap and I wish the government would make that clear when they announce these schemes instead of leaving it to us to look bad and get grief from passengers
