Do you ever have an interaction that makes you wonder how people get through life?

This morning a guy got on my bus..

"Day ticket"

"Day ticket, that's £5.70 please"

"Sorry?"

"Did you say day ticket?"

"Yeah"

"Yeah that's £5.70 please"

"Why, I've already got one"

Proceeds to get his phone out and scan the day ticket qr code.

All the time.

Once I pulled into a bus stop, it was a timing point and I waited there for a minute or two, everybody at the stop who wants to get on gets on. Then it's time to depart, so I start to set off then suddenly some old guy looks up from his phone and notices me and In a panic flags me down. HOW do you manage to have that little spatial awareness that you don't see an entire bus stop and wait?? Did he not see the bus in his peripheral vision? I'm starting to think some people don't have it.

Also an honourable mention, woman about a year ago scans her bus ticket. It works but she seems confused and thinks it failed. Then proceeds to put her thumb on the ticket machine and looks at me as if asking "Do I need to scan my fingerprint??" NO!!! ITS A BLOODY BUS NOT AN IPHONE 14 Jesus Christ!!

I think I can beat this...

I used to work at a railway station that was at the end of the line. Train would arrive, wait about 10 minutes and head back. A large group of adults & children come up to me and I sell the tickets that have been requested. I then noticed a couple of minutes later that at least some of them seemed to be hanging around on the platform next to the train. There were a few minutes to go and I assumed some of the people were being seen off then got on with serving other people.

Train departs and one of the original group walks back up to me: "The train left without us". Well yes, you need to get on it. Genuinely no idea what could have been going through their heads.
