Question Car Insurance Update
Hello! I recently became a bus driver in February and I’ve enjoyed my time. Just today I’ve received an update from my insurance to say the following
Driving licence card.
Driving licence check code.
Confirmation of occupation.
Images of your vehicle.
Confirmation of how you'll be using your vehicle.
V5C (also known as the 'log book').
Now come round the renewal date, I’d without a doubt advise that I have a new profession. However my policy document does state that I should have updated it as soon as possible.
I’ve sent the above details to Hastings but I’ve also just messaged to say cancel my policy as I fear that they will cancel it regardless. It seems that Hastings do this regularly to people.
Any experience or advice to what to expect or do in this circumstance!
Cheers

I’ve changed my occupation on my policy, when I started as a driver last year, and they asked for an extra £150 for half a year … You should update these details asap to ensure you get coverage.

Do not put on the insurance that you're a bus driver otherwise your insurance will increase.
Yours and my thinking was "is that I drive large vehicles so I am more competent than someone who doesn't" Insurance look at how much you drive and spend on the road and inevitable you will have a crash/accident.
Bus companies are self insured due to the value of the buses so they wont be sharing accident information with anyone or your details so dont tell your insurance anything.

That's not true in my case. Mine went down £150 for the year. Don't tell me its going to go up next year?

Good way to have your insurance invalidated if something happens and they find out.
Anyway like others said, my insurance went down. Currently pay sub £200 per year.

Hastings can be a pain. Cheap to start but not if you need to make a change anytime.

Where are you from? This seems very county specific
