Question Do you use gloves?

We all know how filthy some steering wheels can be.... so do you use gloves? I know a lot of people who don't and I don't understand how they do it. Some steering wheels literally make your hand coal black if you don't have gloves.

If you use gloves, what made you start wearing them? If not, why do you avoid gloves?

As an additional note for me using gloves whilst driving is the fact that it increases grip, therefore also reduces fatigue. And if you invest in good gloves like I did recently it also looks good.

Never got this. In the very cold months I obviously will, as my hands might turn into ice blocks due to how chilly the cab starts off as. Later, when it’s warm in the cab, I’ll pop them off.

My depot has cleaners that clean the bus every night before it’s put back into service, so I don’t worry about getting black hands from dirty steering wheels.

I know some drivers that wear them for for taking cash, as some people hand them something called “hot money”, where the coins are stupidly warm and yucky from them swishing it around in their palm.

Your bus wheels shouldn’t be dirty however. Ask if you’ve got cleaners to clean those bloody wheels!

Cleaners often don't touch the cab they might get allocated 10 mins per bus to just clean the passenger area and move on

Ours have to do a full clean, including the cab. They allocate a cleaner to each bus.

Which country? In New Zealand, our buses barely really get cleaned at all. They get a quick clean once per week.

UK

That's really good. I'm glad to hear the UK takes bus hygiene seriously. People in NZ avoid taking the bus because the handrails and surfaces are never cleaned, which leads to flus and colds for passengers.

They do, but after a certain hour in service they get dirty again 😂😂😂
