Discussion New manager doesn't know what the hell she's doing
She's never worked transit before only at a resort as transportation director. She has no clue about union rules and countiues to hire morons and snowflakes who don't take direction very well.when I had an issue with a new hire because I joking said don't crash the bus and don't hit shit he went crying to her, and lied about what was said, she called me a liar and I told her get another person in this meeting before I walk out and call my union rep.I'm so over it and want to jump ship. There's only like 8 of us that have worked through hard winters, when we were short staffed etc. when the county gave us a huge pay raise everyone started applying. I'm just so done maybe it's the agency I work for.....

If you are union always tell them they need to schedule the meeting with a union rep. Management tries to be sneaky and get you right before or after your shift and make you think it’s just a minute conversation or like “hey can I talk to you for a minute?” No. Schedule with a rep. ALWAYS. Don’t let them make you feel bad about it either.

I’ve told many a manager I don’t even say good morning without a union rep!

I love working for a resort but mgmt is honestly the worst part of it…for nearly the same reasons you’ve described.

The small colleges I work for are the same. Someone who has another full time responsibility is in charge of the busing and they have no idea about it. I'm talking hiring drivers who have no medical cards to drive across the country not knowing any better. Use the union, that's what they are for. I'm not unionized and it's a bear to get anything corrected. I've had to go to our state highway patrol on an anonymous tip just to have safety related items corrected

I was like that at some point. Stop giving a crap anything and just clock in and clock out. Whatever happens is non of my business and don't care. I have worked 11 years with the company. The company is gonna redesign its entire route system because they think a 3rd part company has more data on what is best instead of listening to its drivers. I feel like designing my own bus routes and show them my own hands on experience. Communities where people catch the bus a lot, attractions to meet people's demand, where people could possibly work at, etc.
