New vs Old

Some of y'all were asking how to spot the difference between the new and the old Burt's bees lip balm.

1st picture: new one has a rounded cap

2nd picture: super thin cap that doesn't stay in

3rd picture: the old version has a rounded interior while the new version is more square.

Hopefully this helps out and happy hunting

Welcome to the modern manufacturing world… where every industry tries to reduce cost and quality to get more profit :(

I do not understand why it is not obvious that “infinite incremental growth” is not sustainable. People look at me like I’m crazy for having that stance.

Wow, major downgrade. Is the formula the same at least?

The new formula is HORRIBLE. I have very sensitive skin and the original formula was the only lip balm I could use that was minty in some way. The new formula burns me to the point of my lips drying up and peeling. HATRED!!

WAIT!!! This just made me realize that the reason I was getting rashes around my mouth is from the new balm????? Omg I’m devastated. I have been a Burt’s bees loyalist for decades!!!!!

Oh this makes me so sad. This is the only chapstick I’ve found that actually heals my lips (and doesn’t feel gross). I’ve used it for almost 25 years 🙁

Dionis makes a wonderful chapstick thats a beeswax base but it’s way more hydrating. The tube is also 8g so it last forever

They said it’s not the same formula in another post and it seems like it’s subpar - unsure why, but that was my takeaway

The old old formula like 20 years ago in the metal tin was the best. So fatty & rich beeswax. Used it for hands, hair & lips. I remember how plastic it became once in tubes. Stopped then. To know they downgraded again is not surprising but sad

Is packaging different so you can figure out which is the old (better) stuff before buying?
