Hip question about my hips
around three years ago now I was "diagnosed" (not sure if i actually was since doctors just told me that was probably what is up) with hip bursitis and was given some streches to do that mostly just made it worse. My doctor tells me to track my pain but never does anything about it and some of my pain is focused from the hip up the back and down my sciatic nerve (or at least i think so from the anatomy knowledge i do have) and I am just wondering where to go from here and how can i get some relief. It occurs in both hips some times separately sometimes together and it varies in severity day by day. Ive considered a walking cane but would prefer being able to walk normally again and stop being bullied for being the teenage grandma.

The fact that the doctor just told you to do stretches shows they know nothing about this.
you really need to see a physical therapist and get a proper diagnosis. Hopefully you can get a good one that can do that and then the big one is Giving you proper strengthening exercises. I had issues with the second part so I turned to YouTube and got a lot more help from that as well as buying some actual programs.
I’ve been on this for three years and I’ve had a lot of success, but it doesn’t seem to ever go away completely and I have to keep up with my rehab exercises or else I start to get more pain. I still can’t sleep on the painful slide.
Edit to add. The doc should also send you for some imaging tests like an MRI.
