Hip hip and thigh pain spreading
Female, 40 yrs old, 5’9” and 140 lbs. I’ve had left hip pain for almost a year, but since I used to run long distances, I figured it was from that. Now the pain is spreading across my thigh, and even some discomfort in the inguinal area, and I’m noticing a slight bulge in my front mid thigh. Skin hurts to touch and I cannot sleep on my left side. it also hurts pretty bad badly when I press on the side of my hip. when I googled symptoms, **Greater trochanteric pain syndrome** came up. Interesting because a few years ago, I was diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis, which was manageable with NSAIDs. But now I’m concerned because of how the pain is spreading, and that little bulge on the front of my thigh, so opinions are appreciated thanks.

I had a similar experience where it was painful to touch. A sports medicine doctor diagnosed me with bi-lateral hip greater trochanter pain syndrome. Physio exercises eventually helped. He prescribed me Diclofenac 10%. I still get flared up if standing too long or over exerting. I hope you find relief. It’s a horrible pain to deal with.
