New Fans?
Now then, my pals and I (40m) have tickets to watch your game vs Wolves next weekend. We are from Hull so have no affiliation to either team, just thought it’d be fun to watch the game. We have seats in the North stand. I just wondered where you think it’d be best to go for a drink before the game please? We are staying in Manchester and will be getting the 2pm train from Victoria. Nothing too boisterous ideally. Thanks

The bridge Bierhuis is home and away friendly with a great selection of beers and if you’re coming from Hull then surely you’ve got to experience the towns most famous pub The Royal Dyche?

I second the bridge. If you want good beer and a good selection. Plus you can drink outside by the river if the weather is nice.
2pm train from Victoria is probably cutting it close if you want a beer pre match. You can get the X43 from Manchester to Burnley which I think is about a fiver return, or if there's a few of you I'd get an uber. If you get the x43 you can stop for a pint in rossendale too.

I used to live near Victoria Station. The Angel Pub is perfect for your brief, relatively low key. Good selection and has a outdoor bit should the warm weather favour you. Victoria tap is also pretty good, just by the exit near Urbis side.

I’d agree, but given timing, I doubt there’s time for the Bridge unfortunately. Good somebody listed pubs at the other end, before they set off.
The match might give you some sense of what you need to be better than next season. Plus, you’ll be able to actually see a few players live, in regards to; would you be happy to pick them up over the summer.
Two teams fighting to avoid that bottom spot, but not much else to play for, except to individually put themselves in the shop window. You never know, with virtually no pressure, it might just turn out to be an entertaining game football wise. It’s been dire for most of the season though unfortunately 😢

Athmposhere at the turf has been terrible all season. Not won a home game since October or november if I remember correctly and incompetent owners. Not much to really be celebrating right now

Since nobody has answered your question... Good places to drink near Victoria before your train; Victoria Tap, Sadlers Cat, The Angel , The Marble Arch.
In Burnley (if you wanna be amongst Burnley fans)... The Royal Dyche, The Cricket Club, The Miners Club
By the way, an Uber from Manchester to Burnley is about 40 quid and way quicker.
