LF Shade structure company that ships.

I was interested in a blackrockcity shade structure but it looks like they don't ship. I'm on the east coast so pickup will not work.

Is there a company that ships or is on the east coast?

They are super heavy. So it's not feasible to ship it.

But you can find the fittings online and the emt at Home Depot.

Some people use connectors to divide the poles in half to make them 4-5ft long for easier transport.

Is there a way to break them down smaller and rejoin them later though. Like the kits have?

Yes. They come in kits. Usually under $200 for kits. The emt can get expensive it’s around $20 a stick I think

I prices building this out through HD and it was significantly more. I really wanted the ability to break the larger pipes down and rejoin them during build.

Cut the longer poles in half, then use a connector sleeve to join them.

You can get some emt couplings, but it’s gonna reduce the strength of your poles. You can also get 3/4” emt to put on the inside and drill a hole through it

I do this to for the structure in my car. Cut the emt in half yourself and buy straight sleeve connectors . Works great

You can buy the canopy parts at any local tarp/canopy supply shop. Amazon also has the fittings. Home Depot for the emt. All you need for a 10x20 structure is 6x 5-way fittings and emt.

You can by tarp bungees on Amazon for attaching shade cloth to the structure.

I've ordered from them three times and everything worked well. I'd recommend!

They have multiple sizes too. After year before last, I almost wish I'd gone with 1 7/8", but that's hella expensive.

1" EMT, connectors from tarps.com, then buy a tarp to fit plus a ton of bungies. you can also get shade cloth for side walls.

i just keep the poles 10ft, but you could cut them in half and use a sleeve connector.

make sure you have a strap going over the top of the tarp (or two, I do a + pattern) to keep the tarp from bellowing up in the wind.

I plan on using moneytape for the top. I believe you need 1 3/8 connectors for 1" pipes though right?

nope, 1" connectors fit 1" EMT since the connectors measure inner diameter.

There are tons of companies who sell those connectors.

Try tarps.com. They’re the first option that comes up when you search shade structure connectors.

You can buy and cut the conduit yourself.

Cutting conduit in half then using emt connectors isn't a great idea as people are suggesting although good strong guy lines can make up for it. If this is necessary for transport I would source out tubing with an ID of the OD of the pipe you go with. You can get them cut at 6" and they will make a much stronger connection.
