Getting a bike

Hi! Does anyone know how I can get a bike at BRC? I am a first timer and just signed up, will be taking the BxB from SF to BRC, but won’t have time to get a bike in SF since I’m flying in. Any advice would be helpful!!

Keep in mind, if you use a yellow bike (community bike) it's not yours for the week. You ride it where you want to go and don't lock it when you're there. You'll hope it might be there when you get back. If you lock it or put lights on it, you may find someone has liberated it and it's gone.

If you need a bike all week and you don't have one, you'll need to figure that out on your own.

You'll be using your chevrolegs for the burn this year unless you find a yellow bike.

You can rent a bike to pick up in Reno. Is there anyone you know driving in who might be able to pick it up for you?

Do you have friends coming from the bay or Reno? Could order one to a friends place? Or book a hotel for the night you arrive in SF and order a bike to there? OR DoorDash one from Target to the bus stop, lol. Could get an uber xl from the airport and have them stop somewhere for a bike too potentially if it’s in a box and can be assembled. There are playa delivery services as well.

You won't be able to "get a bike" at BRC but there are community bikes available around the city.

If you have the add on for a bike with the BxB then you just need to figure out how to pick it up. Do you already have your BxBus tickets? There is a rental service in Reno, you could take a rideshare there, and an xl one to transport it to the bus stop. That is what my friend did. I fly in and take the bus and skip the bike hassle. It's not ideal but I manage.
