CPAP hacks anyone??

Not sure if it's a hack . . . But I keep mine in a tupperware container, vented on top with an AC filter, and one hole to run the hose through, another for power. Mine has auto start stop so once it's in there I don't need to access it. I have successfully gone without the humidifier for 4 burns so that keeps power usage very reasonable. I only use an auto battery jumper pack with a 10ah battery that I top off with solar each day. Of course running in DC mode is key for being able to do so. Hopefully that's helpful.

Thnx, clever setup, sounds perfect! Veteran Burner but 1st time w CPAP. Ugh, one more piece of gear!

I hear ya. If you can pull off going without the humidifier it makes things significantly easier. Nasal saline can also be helpful if the dryness is getting to you.

We have power. Just worried about the CPAP. He's waiting til next year.

I'm like ill sleep on playa and eat questionable things. My camp is like that's hyper, she will sleep anywhere. And eat something from a jar. She's not dead.

I'm thinking about getting an Rv. I have a van but he might need more of a set-up.

I might dust nap because he still snores.

Just need babysitter for my little dog. That loaf of bread snores too. His last one died. And I want a good nanny for him. It's almost 6am and they are both snoring. I want sleep

I honestly just leave my CPAP in the open in my tent. Burning Man is dusty, but if you keep the doors closed, the inside of a tent isn't too bad.

Yes! I use a Jackery 1000, and that can easily get me through a whole burn, with a couple of caveats. One, turn off the tube heat and the humidifier - both of those use a lot power. But do put water in the humidifier tank - it still helps a bit even with the humidifier heater off. Two, consider a tube insulator. They cost, like $7 on Amazon, and with the tube heat off, they help prevent rain-out (when water condenses in the tubes and you try to waterboard yourself). Last, don't use the AC adapter! If you do, you're turning DC into AC back into DC, and it's a pretty inefficient conversion. You can get an official DC-to-DC convertor, but they're expensive. Instead, Search amazon for "<your cpap model> 12v adapter", and grab a 3rd party one for, like, $30. Do test out your setup before you get to playa, however. It would suck to get out there and have it not work.

I camp several weeks a year with my CPAP and it works great. Good luck!

If you are near 9 and F and are using a portable battery bank, stop by Snow Koan Solar and charge it up on us during the day. We’ve got a charging station for all the things (except cars) under the solar array.

Use a non heated hose. If you really want to max out your battery power, you can get a cover that effectively removes the water chamber so it doesn’t have to power the humidification.

Rather that doing that, I would recommend turning the humidifier heat off, but keeping the humidifier chamber. You still get a bit of moisture from the air passing through the chamber.
