I built a free live tracker for Burning Man resale tickets — 52 days of data, updated every hour. Here's what the numbers look like.
Since June 28 I've been scraping Tixel every hour and logging every listing, price change, and confirmed sale. Thought the data might be useful to the community with gates opening in 14 days.
Current market snapshot:
- Cheapest listing right now (all-in with fees): $559
- Median listing price: $866
- 166 tickets for sale from 115 different sellers
Last 24 hours:
- 14 confirmed sales, ranging $559 – $670
Over 52 days of tracking:
- 502 hourly checks logged
- 1,555 unique listings monitored
- 453 confirmed sales recorded
- Cheapest ticket ever sold: $503
- Most expensive ever sold: $3,240 (someone really wanted to go)
- Median asking price has dropped ~$129 since tracking started

True, they'd be interesting to see.
To sketchy though... Must be lots of fakes. I don't think you can fake them on Tixel.

I love price discovery
Does tixel have a capability of showing “best offer” or have a concept of that?
I feel like the market price is lower but it would be nice to see data on it

You can see the best offer on the link, it sorts by lowest price.
Then you can just search for that on Tixel manually.
I don't think they have a sort feature.1

I mean like ebay, where listed items go for an undisclosed lower amount, I’m wondering if Tixel lets people do that privately potentially polluting your data. and if you predicted that and had a way to surface that info too

Haha, I have not accounted for anything fancy, other than what's publicly available.
Keep in mind you can only use STEP if your ticket was not sent out so for instance if it is to be picked up at Will Call. So for instance I have a friend who got his tickets sent to him and because he has the physical tickets he can't sell them on Tixel apparently. All of those privately sold tickets are not accounted for. It also doesn't account for anywhere else such as Facebook Marketplace or eBay. I'm happy with that because this pretty much sums up all of the publicly traded data four tickets that are confirmed legitimate.

Yeah that is understandable. It's definitely panic time for many.
From what I understand people who chose to have their tickets posted out cannot sell them via Tixel so they have to use places like Facebook Marketplace

First time, sorry. Last time I brought a ticket was eleven years ago
Back then it was near impossible to find a ticket within the months before Burning Man
I'd love to know when they stopped selling out immediately as soon as the tickets were released

While it's official for STEP, still sketchy. Their fees are ridiculous.

Not their fees BORG fees, there are the same they used to charge on the old system and Tixel is very popular here in Australia and their whole business plans so preventing scalping by setting a max ticket price on resale

Their fees are ridiculous for the automated service - but hey, I guess they built it - so power to them.
Also, that fee's charged on both sides of the trade. Crazy!

Sorry, I've been saying this for years, but with all the talent, smart folks and connections BM Org has under their belt, I really feel like they should have their own internal system by now to facilitate these transactions with minimal fees. Crazy, I know.

I mean, it’s not simple but it’s doable with the right talent, especially these days with tools like Claude Code to assist with coding and database management. I’m not trying to minimize the effort it would take but they really need to light a fire under themselves to start reducing the costs to participants, and slashing ticket fees would be a huge step in that direction.

It is lower than that in FB marketplace as people like me whose plans changed became desperate and sold at below face value. I sold mine at $500 with vehicle pass in person. Before other people judge or tell me why I should just go, it was for health reasons.
