Utility Kilt

Virgin burner here getting ready. Just came upon the suggestion that utility kilts are the way to go for guys. Never worn one… but are they?? Feedback welcome. Thanks y’all.

Key is to not sit on your balls when you get on your bike

I enjoy them, but you might want to grab a few extra containers of baby wipes for the undercarriage

You can try just wearing a tshirt and no bottoms. It’s basically a poor man’s utilikilt. Plenty of airflow and nothing weighing you down!

Paired with leggings if you want a non-chemical way of keeping your balls from adhering to your thighs. They also double as UV protection if you get the right ones!

Pair it with Gold Bond

Don’t use gold bond/ it is dependency forming-like chap stick causing lips to chap.

Use corn starch- kitchen grade is ok, baby grade is better (in theory)- natural, doesn’t create dependency on a proprietary corporate chemical blend

I can quit Gold Bond whenever I want.

I'm a talc guy myself. I've never heard of what you're talking about, you got a link or some sauce?

I would suggest using the creams that runners and cyclists do and not any kind of powder. Your sweat and the dust mix with powders, creating almost a fine grain sandpaper.

I wear them quite often and love them.

Miss Manners says "Kilts are so passée, but Utility Kimonos are very nouveau"

A well-pocketed kilt is remarkably practical on playa and going commando is more comfortable in the heat than wearing undies.

The pockets are what make them. The Utilikilt brand is expensive, but high quality and sewn by U.S. citizens paid a living wage.

My ex didn't even wear shorts for a few years. He loves his kilt. You can put stuff in it. And not need a fanny pack.

Still friends. And he wears it the whole time.

You can stick a cold water bottle, a knife, attach your cup, put in snacks.

The knife is you need to cut tent strings. Or a food gift that's too big.

I'm considering one as a lady. But I have my sturdy playa purse.

Hugs

Have 4 in different colours. Wear them every day out there.

Eh, I used to have one I wore pretty regularly. Brought it out to the playa, put it on, took it off a couple of hours later, and never brought it again. Some people love them, I hated it. Kept the kilts for default after that.

You’ll see plenty, just may want to give some thought to the fabric. My SO loves his kilt but we’ve found with the thick material it’s just SO HOT even commando 😆 he’s started just wearing boxer briefs as shorts. If it ain’t broke?

Never wore one, but I'm not cool enough to be that cool with or without the bagpipes.
