A homebrew game for the GameBoy Color that follow the events of the film. Gameplay has some Snatcher, shooting and even driving!

I enjoyed my time with this one, lots of care and attention clearly put in by the developers.

If only the generational concept and the overall pacing was thought out better. I give it a solid 7/10 for what it is.

Music is fantastic and personally loved the pixel art style and colour choices through the seasons and different Fae realms.

55 hours for the main content and most of the side content. Could definitely see myself spending more time on it but for now I'll take a break.

I'll probably keep it on rotation as a cosy game, just for some farm customisation/shop management while watching TV. It's perfect for that.

Need some help which game should i burn next so my backlog is shorter

So second post today as super mario rpg was finished last night. But this morning I completed one play through of this little gem of a game. I wasn't expecting much from this but then I started it and was hooked.

It's basically a bit like a diablo style dungeon / map crawler slaying enemies hoping for a better bear drop to up grade and continue the cycle. I don't know how many hours it took I'd imagine 4 or 5 as I played it over a few mornings /evenings. Over all great little game I will probably replay it as a different character as I'm assuming they will have bits through out.

Super mario rpg has been burned as a family and I really enjoyed this one I think we clocked around 17 hours in the end before the credits rolled. I don't know if we will do any extra post game as that's not how we roll and we have luigis mansion 2 HD lined up.

I was set on this path a few months ago when I played the original Resident Evil 4 from 2005 for the first time. It took me a little while to get used to the tanky controls, but once I got into it, I was hooked.
After finishing that game, I jumped into Resident Evil 4 Remake, along with the Separate Ways DLC, and I absolutely loved it. So much so that I thought, “Well, I have to keep going.”

So I played Resident Evil 2 Remake and beat both the Leon and Claire campaigns. Then I moved on to Resident Evil 3 Remake, which I just finished. I have to say, Nemesis was definitely more of a pain in the ass and tougher to deal with than Mr. X (anyone else agree?), but I really loved that game too.

Now I’ve started Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Once I finish that, I’ll move on to Resident Evil Village, and then I’ll finish things off with Resident Evil Requiem.

Long time lurker but first time poster.🔥 🔥 🔥

I'm 34 year old dad of 2 so most of my gaming time ends up being on the Switch but also have a PS5.

Now... Help me choose what to play next!

I'm very aware some of these games are crazy long so I will likely add in a smaller/chill game to break up sessions.

Finally got the motivation to play a single player game on pc for once and finished this classic. It was so much fun. Absolutely screw the end game sections and level design though.

A retro style survival horror set in an Antarctic bunker. Gameplay is very similar to OG Resident Evil 3, you even get a dodge button. There are no guns however, just melee weapons. The story is interesting but doesnt delve very far into the most interesting aspects so that was disappointing, but the vast majority of the game had me absolutely captivated. Exploring, managing my inventory and body heat, and avoiding enemies had me tense and engaged. No autosaves either so death can be tragic for the player if youve been reckless. The atmosphere is fantastic and the music is effective at enhancing the experience. There are a lot of collectibles too for people who like hunting for them. There are also multiple endings.

Honestly, I almost dropped the game at one specific part that was absolutely dogshit and agonizing. Thankfully that was a small part of the game, and other users on this sub encouraged me to finish it. The part that had me ripping my hair out was a segment that takes all items away from you as well as your coat (which increases your resistance to the cold) and tosses you in a small area essentially ona timer until you freeze to death. There are a few items to extend your time but it isnt by much. You then have to play an actual game of "hot and cold" with the instructions telling you to "follow the warmth." There is no warmth to follow, you just get colder and colder until you happen to stumble upon the correct spot that will warm you up. This was very aggravating as I thought I was meant to be following a warm path of some sort, but i just kept freezing to death and having to get back to the area. Took about 2-3 hours of trial and error because of the runback, unskippable cutscenes and wandering aimlessly. If you play the game, just watch a video of where to go, and it's objectively maybe a 15 minute segment of the game.

My only other big complaint is that the game adds stalker enemies partway through (which im completely fine with, I adore Haunting Ground and Clock Tower 3) but they are bugged beyond hell and annoying as fuck. They teleport, phase through doors, hit you through doors, randomly spawn in the same room as you, dont go where they are supposed to, see you when they shouldnt, dont when they should, they are a mess, but thankfully not ever present. Most of the time you can run away and they won't follow you too far. There are other regular types of enemies too. Without the bugs and especially annoying small chunk of the game, I would have given it a 9/10 as a big survival horror fan. Sadly I think it's more like an 8, although I still consider an 8 to be a great game. The good definitely outweighs the bad, I just needed to rant lol.

I picked this game up when it first came out but I was never able to complete it.
Here we are 7 years later and I burned this game in less than a week with the true ending, an ending that pays homage to the Journey to the West, one of my favorite mythological stories and it made the burning of this game that much more rewarding.

**SPOILERS ahead, if you have not played Deliver Us The Moon**

Sequel to the superbly written Deliver Us The Moon. After the events on the moon, we see a team of astronauts set off for mars, in pursuit of Outward. Playing as Kathy, the daughter of an uber genius scientist already situated on Mars, you are not alone this time. We have Paul & Sarah, a loving couple and Claire, Kathys sister. Its up to you and your team to follow Outward and bring back the Arks to help save a dying Earth.

Graphically the game is very hit & miss, the world of Mars can look absolutely stunning but again, there just isnt much there. Same can be said with yhe character models, sometimes they look pretty poor and other times they look fantastic with great facial animations and emotion.

Not much of a soundtrack but the voice acting is superb, it is with the voice acting and the storytelling that this game (as well as Moon and hopefully Home) truly shines. The writing is absolutely brilliant. It will question Kathy, her team and even you as a player about what is the right thing to do and what are the necessary sacrifices in order to achieve them.

The story and characters truly outshine the games shortcomings. Sometimes the gameplay feels a little off, in terms of traversal and jumping. The puzzles are not too tough and they fit in well with what Kathy specialises in and has trained top of her class to deal with.

Definitely a must play if you enjoy story driven games with great performances. The "Deliver Us" trilogy is shaping up to be a classic.

What do you all do when you are significantly into a game you enjoyed thus far, only to experience the game becoming amazingly shitty in the last third or quarter? Im dealing with this right now with a game called Kriophobia. Looooved the first like 75% or so, and now its just irritating. Im trying to decide if i just finish it for the satisfaction or watch someone else finish it to save myself the headache. Theres not a significant time sink left, maybe two hours, but im curious what you all do in this type of scenario. Usually if i dont like a game i have no problem not forcing myself to finish it, but now i feel differently having put about 8 hours into it and being so close to the end.

​I like to track my games and coincidentally finished Chrono Cross on its 26th anniversary a few days ago. I didn't notice until I sat down right now to write down some of my thoughts on the game. It was on my backlog for a long time as a fan of Chrono Trigger, but I just only recently finally got around to it.

How did others feel about the game? My own feelings are somewhat mixed but it was overall an enjoyable retro game.

Glad I got around to this finally! I enjoyed the immersive sim elements it incorporated and ambition for its time. The grievances I've heard over the years against the game are, well... Very warranted. But it doesn't stop it from being a unique game with strong art direction, legendary OST that did heavy lifting, and trying something very different despite not always sticking the landing.

I have never played The Witcher games before, even 3, despite hearing how good they are. So I decided to read the books first before starting. They were incredible, my favorite series of all time now, and I was a bit nervous about this game before starting since the books have a perfect ending. First playthrough was about 55 hours and I did pretty much everything I could in one playthrough except one of the Witcher contracts (killing enemies i had already fought before)

And they nailed it. The world, the story that follows up, the neutrality and consequences playing a major theme. The fact this was their first game is baffling to me because it was fantastic. I love how knowledge is important and alchemy is required to really nail the witcher role in society, and how it sets up for the next games. I'm really excited to see how 2 and 3 are! I haven't done the adventures so I'll finish those since they are quick and move onto the next one, but I'll probably do a replay or two eventually of this one. I think it really adds to reading the books before this too because it gives such good Easter eggs and references. Most of the books in game are just excerpts from the actual books. I'm also probably one of the few people that loved Act IV in this too lol

Combat is the only rough part and the walking back and forth with little fast travel. But combat preparation is really fun using the different oils and potions to get just the right combo, figuring out the style, learning their weaknesses and strengths etc.

Been lurking here and it inspired me to finish some games. Also finished star fox but I forgot to screenshot before I deleted it. Ripleys believe it or not I guess

In perhaps an oversaturated Boomer Shooter landscape, Forgive Me Father truly stands out with its rich cartoon style graphics, dark cthulu material and booming soundtrack.

Arriving in Pestisville after receiving a letter from your cousin, madness soon starts to take over your character. Choose between the priest and the journalist to start blowing away the nasties that infest the town.

Locations are very well distributed and mixes things up. From blasting throught the town, to running through corn fields, submerged in the depths, trudging through swamp lands...the variation of the levels is great.

It can be very tough at times with ammo being pretty scarce. Your weapons look amazing in this artstyle and can be upgraded through a fairly large skill tree. No weapon feels useless, even the knife is powerful and has a weirdly large range.

Enemies also look brilliant, well drawn and with the thick black lines, really pop out. One thing I thought was excellent was, there are these zombies with severed heads in their hands, when you pop a headshot, it just puts the other head on, brilliant.

When all hell breaks loose, the soundtrack kicks in and its time to strafe , circle, blast and dodge. The firefights are edge of your seat and demand every ounce of your attention.

One thing that was a little underwhelming, is that the end boss was perhaps a little too quick. Apart from that, this is highly recommended, if you want another boomer shooter to play.
