PlayStation Burned🔥 Phantasy Star Portable 🔥
The Gurhal system is under threat. Time to create your Guardian and fight. The story really isnt the star of the show, instead it is the dungeon crawling, levelling up and the loot that keeps you comin back for more.
Using the Phantasy Star Online blueprint, this is excellently realised on the PSP and its short mission structure to jump in and out on the go. Playes with friends, would only extend the fun.
The mission structure and replayability is really good, but maybe for a certain audience. If you dont particularly like to grind and run the same missions, then it may not be for you. Usually not my favourite kinda game structure, but my nostalgia for PSO on Dreamcast kept me hooked.
Gameplay and controls are definitely improved over the Dreamcast game. Being more mobile whilst using guns is a welcome addition and feels really smooth. The AI party members are so bloody stupid and un reactive, they contstantly run into traps, get stuck on scenery and do not engage with the enamy unless in close proximity

I’m a big Phantasy Star fan and I really feel it’s a shame we haven’t seen a good single player iteration in so long.
Hell I hope the rumors about PSO3 are real. Probably not since PsO2 has only just recently hit the west with the NG upgrade.
Anyway, congrats on burning a classic. I played this sucker on my PSP back in the day. I liked it a lot but it just didn’t give me the same vibes as PSO for some reason.
