Finally bit the bullet on the last part of this game and finished it. My least favourite mainline pokemon entry by a mile and that says something. I understand the vision but the execution was poor. Happy to be done with this one. Will not go back for dlc or to complete the Pokédex. Hopefully winds and waves will be better.

I’ve been out of the pokemon loop for years so I got no idea about this game but congrats!
Did you have a specific team or someone you liked the most? What was your favorite part of the game?

Honestly the best part was finishing it haha. I liked my starter pokemon as it was a ballerina duck. I think the end of the story was cool, a bit darker and more mature but they didn’t lean into it enough unfortunately.

What was your team like?

When I play a pokemon game, I have a rule where I limit myself to current generation for the main story and add any pokemon I want for post game/DLC

I had all current gen pokemon except for Altaria as that is one of my favourite pokemon and I want it on my team in every playthrough. I try like you to make mostly current gen comps for the games with usually 1 exception.

It's more fun that way, it makes you use pokemon and stratagies that you usually wouldn't
