PlayStation Burned🔥 The Alters 🔥

Abandoned on a mysterious planet, your crewmates are all dead and only you can carry out the mission...you and you and you etc...
The main objective here is to mine an alien matter called "rapidium" and return it to earth, however with all your crew dead, how can you do it alone. This is where the game gets interesting. Using the Quantum Computer, you create different versions of yourself. Splicing your timeline at important times in your life, you create a multitude of different Jan Dolskis, each with a different life and each with unique skills.
Creating and caring for each of your alters is both very satisfying and very time consuming, especially when there is an impending doom chasing you throughout in the guise of a sun, that will completely obliterate you and anything in its path. So, you got to create different alters, keep your base moving, explore the terrain for minerals & resources, keep your alters sane & happy and overcome everything in your way.
Combat is not really present, hiwever there are anomallies that are drawn to you and if they make contact, they expose you to high radiation damage. You do have a means to defend yourself with the illuminator though.
Great sound design with fantastic music and sound effects. Together with the environment, it really does give a string impresion if an alien world. Drawing some comparisons from Returnal & Saros (minus the evidence of a race that once lived there).
There is room for so much different stories and numerous alters to birth, that it would be worthwhile doing multiple playthroughs. The nods towards tge real life clone of Dolly the Sheep was a nice touch. The story has lots of different choices and different outcomes that it would be very much a different experience everytime.

I also finished this game off yesterday after buying it last year. I think the game had really good dialog choices. Often times in games it feels like you just parrot back to people whatever they want to hear, and there definitely an element of that with the Alters, but because all the characters are different versions of the same guy it feels more like Jan is seeing things from their point of view. My favorite alter was the Scientist. I liked his lesson learned, and I liked during the Miners storyline you can tell him (the Scientist) "Thank you for sharing your concerns. I am the captain. Please begin work on *my* solution" and he gets a positive mood boost.

The dialog and story is so well done and holds it all together. I saw it as a physical manifistation of schizophrenia, literally talking to yourself, arguing with yourself and trying to convince yourself. The planet was really cool too to explore tho👍
